Position Overview

The Construction Project Engineer supports field and project leadership by coordinating materials, managing documentation, and assisting with quality and safety efforts. This role plays a key part in keeping projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with client expectations.

 


Key Responsibilities

Project Administration

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, procurement, change orders, and closeout documentation
  • Support day-to-day project operations and risk management

Contract & Scope Support

  • Assist with subcontracts, purchase orders, and contract compliance
  • Help ensure alignment with project specifications and agreements

Safety Support

  • Promote and help enforce jobsite safety standards

Project Coordination

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors
  • Assist with scheduling and daily workflow coordination

Project Closeout

  • Support punch list completion
  • Compile operations and maintenance manuals, warranties, and final documentation

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or 4+ years of relevant construction experience
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, and project coordination tasks
  • Knowledge of site work, structural systems, and finishes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore is a plus
  • Familiarity with scheduling software is preferred
  • OSHA certification and First Aid/CPR are a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform routine physical tasks
  • Comfortable climbing, bending, and working in active job-site environments
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying site conditions
